The End of an Era!

The teacher said: "Come to the edge".
The children said: "But it's too high".
The teacher said: "Come to the edge".
The children said: "But we're scared".
The teacher said: "Come to the edge".
So the children came to the edge.
And the teacher pushed them.
And they flew.

The above quote comes from Kindergarten. It is an amazing summary of the Kindergarten year. This year has been no exception. If possible, this year has been the best of all three years. Maybe it's because I appreciated it more. Maybe it's because I knew what to expect. Maybe it's because Leah delighted in simply everything ...from field trips to math. I don't know, but I'm so sad and sentimental about the end of Kindergarten. I can't even really think of the words I want to use to sum it up. How can you express your appreciation to someone who has loved all three of your children so completely for years? How can you thank that person for making every single day a joyful experience? I don't know how to do that so I will have to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Here is a photo of Christian in Kindergarten...

Brady in Kindergarten (*sob*)!

Dear Mrs. Niedrach:

Words cannot express our gratitude for the love you have shown to our children throughout the years. You have truly taken the time to get to know them and have seen strengths in them that even we did not see. I know that they will remember their Kindergarten years for the rest of their lives and that no other year will ever compare to it. Thank you so much. Kindergarten is the bomb!

Love always,

Scot and DeAnn

How sweet it is....
Each Simon has been a special joy and it has been such a pleasure to teach all of them.
Brady was the serious one, with the serious parents. When I joked "this is going on your permanant record", both Scot and Brady turned white. He had more perseverence tham most adults.(still does)If he said he would do it, he would.Brady liked to know facts and wanted to know what the rules were.
Christian wanted to know how far those rules could bend. Also how much a teacher could take. I loved him through and through. He had the biggest heart of anyone I know. He questioned everything but respected a good answer. He liked reason, but even more, liked to win.If you won him over, he was your friend for life.
Leah was the icing on the cake, the sparkle on the wand. She is a bundle of girly giggles. Since the first day when she told a certain principalto; "stay out of our classroom", she has been a hoot. I love to see what household calamity she has written about in her journal. She has the most positive disposition of any child I've ever taught and always looks on the bright side of every coin. She is just a treasure to me and I can only imagine to love and happiness she has brought your family.
To have known each of these different and wonbderful children has been such a gift to me. To be able to run out to the car and share a funny "Simon moment" with DeAnn and to read your blog and to be a part of your family, however small, has been an honor.
I doubt they let posts this long go on, but thank you for letting me putting my fingerpring on each unique Simon. (and I expect wedding invitations)
love, Mrs. Niedrach

I'm going to print this out and save it so that when they are older, they can read your thoughts on each of them in Kindergarten.

I'm still so sad, even though it's been almost a week. Leah says daily that she wishes she was still in Kindergarten. She's writing in her journal everyday. Christian, however, told the lady at the library today that writing was "boring and a waste of time". Sigh.
