Cross Country Update!

Well, Brady is still in cross country. He's still in pain. The last practice we all got stung repeatedly by yellow jackets. The end.

Just kidding! Well, about it being the end of the update anyway. Last weekend was a long weekend. We had hoped that it would be an opportunity for Brady to rest his feet and stay off them for a few days. Oh well. Brady's coach gave him the assignment to run 1 1/2 miles before Tuesday. Plus, Brady is not good at just sitting around. Particularly at Nana and Papa's lake house.

I made him wait until Monday to go running. Scot and I had a (short) debate about which one of us was going to run with him. Scot lost that debate. Ha ha! But I had just run 2 miles the night before and I felt it was too soon for me to run again.

We gave Brady an old IPod we had so he would have music to listen to.

"Now, how do you work this IPod thing again?"

And they're off!

Woo Hoo! Brady is in the lead! Sore feet and all! Actually, Scot is letting him set the pace. I'm standing on the sidelines acting as a cheerleader. While I was waiting for them to come back around, Leah came outside and wanted to run. Why not? So, I sent her down the road into the cul de sac... Go, Leah, go!

What kind of mom am I that I just let her hair down to flap in the breeze? Anyone that runs knows that you have to put your hair up!

Finally, Brady and Scot came back around and I let not only Leah run with them, but also the dog... It's a family run!

I know you're asking yourself, "What is Scot pointing to?". He's pointing to the neighbors dog and telling it to stay. Scot really prides himself on being the dog whisperer. Except it's more like the dog enforcer. He says a command and dogs everwhere just drop!

Everyone ran very well! But, Brady's feet still hurt. Sigh. We've done all we can do. We're going to let it just play out and see how it goes. Everyone say a little prayer that his feet stop hurting soon!

Cross Country?! I'm impressed! Hope his feet are better soon...they'll eventually toughen up the more he runs. What kind of shoes is he wearing?

Ha ha-Tim! So true!

Janeen- he's wearing Asics. We went and got his feet professionally fitted by some guru of shoes... It may be helping. Who knows?
